On the 4th of May a working meeting was held between the a.i. Head of the Republic of Mordovia Vladimir Volkov and Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Arkady Dvorkovich. The issues of the second stage implementation of the  "Optical fiber production creation" project were discussed. The meeting was attended by Andrey Nikolaev who is a General Director of "Optic fiber Systems" JSC.

There was a discussion about the  start of the factory construction for the production of blanks for optical fiber drawing (preforms) in Saransk in 2017. Commissioning of the second start-up phase of the "Optical fiber production creation" project will allow to solve the problem of technological independence and the plant provision with raw materials for the final product manufacture. This issue was discussed at the recent meeting between Vladimir Volkov and the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin. Today the construction project for the second start-up complex was developed and passed the state expertise, a part of technological equipment was purchased. Agreements on further steps in the implementation of the project were reached at the meeting with Arkady Dvorkovich that is of special importance for improving national security and is relevant in the context of import substitution. The Deputy Prime Minister has given appropriate instructions according to the topic of the meeting .

Vladimir Volkov also discussed with Arkady Dvorkovich the implementation of the project for creation of the Fiber Optics Engineering Center in Saransk and the purchase of high-tech equipment for this center.
